Flight Deck 5, the next installment in the Flight Deck series from Abacus has been officially launched at the Oz Flight 2007 Expo held this weekend at the Conrad Jupiters Hotel and Casino on the Gold Coast, QLD Australia. Flight Deck 5 uses 3wirex to power its carrier operations in Flight Simulator X. 3wirex allows sim pilots to launch and recover aboad moving carriers in missions and free flight. Only 3wirex provides pilots with an unscripted virtual LSO that gives verbal instructions while on approach to the carrier. The LSO is active in missions and free flight on every approach to the carrier. 3wirex also makes it easy to place your own carriers in the FSX world by using just a text editor, with no other tools required. You guys know that the only time an LSO says "Roger Ball" is to confirm that response from the pilot. The interegation should be "3/4 mile, call the ball".
By the way where is the ball in the simulation, I haven't been able to get it to display, an spotting the deck is something I was trained never to do.
